Dear PSA Members

PSA trust that all our members and their families are keeping safe. Should you have any COVID 19 cases in your pool fraternity, we would appreciate it if you would let us know.

We need to report back to our regions on the questionnaire sent out on 5 May 2020 regarding the hosting our SA Tournaments for 2020 and a few other administrative issues. The outcome of this are as follow:

1.We need to cancel our tournaments scheduled for later this year (2020)
2.The existing executive will carry on with the daily running of PSA until the next AGM (as per our Constitution Point 12.20).
3.For 2021 the tournaments will still be held over one month period. The one reason being, that the government expects the pandemic to still go on for more than a year, as well as the Easter Weekend coming into our dates, if we must work according to the Dept. of Education’s school calendar for 2021 (this might also still change). We would not like to be in the position to cancel the tournaments again on short notice.
4.All regional chairpersons indicated that they have discussed this with their regional executive and it was a unanimous decision.

Yours in sport

The 2020 World Eight-ball Pool Championships have been postponed.  The suggested new date is November.  As the EPA cannot secure a venue for this year's championships, it has been moved to Ireland.  A final decision on whether the 2020 World 8-Ball Pool Championships goes ahead, will be made on 30 June 2020.

Australia and France have already indicated that they will not be participating this year due to the Corono virus pandemic.

Apologies for any inconvenience
